Halyomorpha halys mini-pyramidal trap

Mini-pyramidal trap (Pitfall type) in green and transparent polypropylene for the monitoring and capture of males and females of the brown marmorated stink bug (also known as: Asian stink bug or brown stink bug) (Halyomorpha halys) that causes damage to production in multiple crops (small fruits, grape, vegetables, fruit trees, ornamentals and others). It requires the installation (purchased separately) of the pheromone and attractant dispenser Halyomorpha halys or of other species for which the trap is indicated (pests that carry out their activity predominantly near the ground and with a high tendency to climb obstacles - stink bugs, weevils and beetles).

The components that make up the mini-pyramidal trap have the following characteristics:

•  3 pyramidal fins of green polypropylene (PP), which once properly fitted / assembled form the pyramidal base of the trap (after assembly: 16 cm lower diameter, 9 to 4 cm upper diameter and 16 cm in height);
• 1 grouping body of yellowish-green PP (6 cm diameter and 9 cm in height), which allows the connection and fixing of the pyramidal base to the inner access cone and to the collector cup;
• 1 triangular access cone inner of transparent PP (8 cm lower diameter, 1 cm upper diameter and 14.5 cm height);
• 1 retention cap of yellowish-green PP (5 cm lower diameter, 2 cm upper diameter and 2 cm height);
• 1 collector cup of transparent PP (8 cm diameter and 21 cm in height).

The installation of the traps must be located in lateral or peripheral areas of the plot to be protected, especially near walls, hedges or wooded areas. You should place some additional traps inside the plot, always closer to its sides, in case of high attack intensity.

In small plots, vegetable gardens or gardens (less than 1 ha), it is recommended that you install 1 to 2 traps for monitoring the presence of the pest. Should you wish to carry out the monitoring and control of the population in plots of any size, you should install one trap for every 400 m² of cultivated area (spaced about 20 metres apart) (25 traps per hectare). In any of the situations, you should install the traps at least 6 m away from buildings. It is recommended that you install the traps at the monitoring site from mid-April / May and keep them operational until October / November (the activity period may vary depending on the location). 

Dose: 1 to 25 traps with dispenser/ha (depending on the objective, season and attack intensity - consult the documentation).

Attention: For detailed information, we recommend consulting the technical data sheet of each specific pheromone and attractant dispenser. Frequent monitoring and cleaning of the traps is recommended, as well as the prior consultation of literature on the biology of the target species for the area, region or country and of the recommendations contained in the circulars resulting from the activity of the Agricultural Warning Station. The use of pest monitoring methodologies in agricultural crops always requires the accompaniment of a consistent plan for sampling the losses to production resulting from the damage caused by the pest, in order to be aware of the risk, as regards the economic level of attack.
