Cymatrap® Pro trap Halyomorpha halys

Professional pyramidal trap (Pitfall type), black-colored, designed for the monitoring of the brown marmorated stink bug, Asian stink bug or brown stink bug (Halyomorpha halys) using the aggregation pheromone dispenser (purchased separately - consult the information regarding the dispenser). The brown marmorated stink bug causes damage to the production of various vegetables and fruit trees.

The Cymatrap^® Pro trap consists of:

• 1 pyramidal central body, 120 cm high, built from two triangular plates fitted together in black corrugated polypropylene 3 mm thick ;
• 1 square base, 36 cm per side, for fitting the pyramidal central body and anchoring to the ground, in black corrugated polypropylene 3 mm thick;
• 4 metal stakes for fixing / stabilizing in the ground the square base;
• 1 entry cone in black plastic;
• 1 collector jar in transparent plastic for fitting onto the entry cone;
• 1 elastic cord for fixing / stabilizing the collector jar and entry cone to the pyramidal central body.

It is recommended to install 3 traps per hectare, distributed in such a way that they are spaced about 25 - 50 m apart, for regular monitoring in small to medium-sized plots (< 1 ha). For larger plots (> 1 ha), install 3 traps corresponding to the indication for one hectare and one additional trap per supplementary hectare (for example: in a plot of 3 hectares, 5 traps should be installed - the 3 recommended for one hectare and one per each additional hectare).

Install with the aggregation pheromone dispenser in the plot from mid-February / March onwards and keep until October / November.

Dose: 1 to 3 traps with dispenser/plots <1ha or 2 traps + 1 trap (with dispenser) per ha of the plot/plots >1ha (depending on the objective, season and intensity of attack - consult the documentation).

Attention: Carry out the monitoring and regular cleaning of the trap (preferably weekly or according to the captures) to maintain the operability / efficiency of the structure and of the pheromone dispenser. It is recommended to consult literature on the biology of the target species for the zone, region or country and the recommendations present in the circulars resulting from the activity of the Agricultural Warning Stations. The use of pest monitoring methodologies in agricultural crops always presupposes the accompaniment by a consistent sampling plan of the loss in production resulting from the damage caused by the pest, so as to be aware of the risk, as regards the economic level of attack.
