Cymatrap® Kit Halyomorpha halys

Kit for the monitoring / assessment / detection of the brown marmorated stink bug, Asian stink bug or brown stink bug that attacks various crops (vegetables and fruit trees). Install 2 to 25 traps (depending on the objective and pest intensity) per hectare, before the start of the pest's flight, which occurs from March to April and from September to October (variable depending on the location). The traps must be installed so that they are spaced apart from one another, about 20 m. Install on the ground or on the trunk / branch of the trees, walls and structures (boards or posts) prepared for their installation, ensuring good anchoring to the installation site. The diffusers (aggregation pheromone and attractant) have a persistence of at least 8 to 9 weeks after installation, and their replacement after that period is advised, in order to maintain the efficiency of the captures. The kit was developed with the materials needed for use during the entire campaign (it allows 1 replacement of the monitoring material: pheromone diffuser and attractant).

Each Cymatrap^® Halyomorpha halys Kit, contains:

• 1 Pitfall - pyramidal type trap (45 cm height and 16 cm width at the base), consisting of 2 hard yellow plastic triangles, 1 yellow entry cone, 1 collector jar, 1 elastic cord to fix the trap and 2 anchoring pins;
• 2 dispensers / diffusers containing 0.3 to 0.5 % of aggregation pheromone (Halyomorpha halys);
• 2 dispensers / diffusers containing attractant (Halyomorpha halys).

Dose: 2 to 25 traps w/ diffusers (depending on the objective, season and attack intensity - consult the documentation).

The kit is marketed assembled in a single package with assembly instructions.

Attention: Gloves must be used to handle the diffusers (pheromone and attractant) after opening the sealed package. Do not open the diffusers, their material is permeable and allows the gradual diffusion of the contents. Keep the diffusers in a cool area (< 25 º C), at an ambient relative humidity below 55 % and protected from direct sunlight exposure until the installation date. Frequent monitoring and cleaning of the traps is recommended, as well as the prior consultation of literature on the biology of the target species for the area, region or country and of the recommendations contained in the circulars issued by the activity of the Agricultural Warning Station. The use of pest monitoring methodologies in agricultural crops always presupposes the accompaniment by a consistent plan for sampling the loss in the production resulting from the damage caused by the pest, in order to be aware of the risk, with regard to the economic level of attack.
