Cosmopolites sordidus trap

Pitfall-type trap specially developed for monitoring insects that carry out their activity at the level of the surface or the superficial layer of the soil, namely, beetles whose larvae attack the root zone and base of the stems or pseudostems of multiple crops (for example: Cosmopolites sordidus and Rhynchophorus ferrugineus) (requires the installation of an attractant or aggregation pheromone dispenser specific to each species - consult the information regarding these products - purchased separately). For initial monitoring, 4 traps should be installed per hectare of crop, and their number should be increased up to a maximum of 16 traps per hectare in cases of high infestation. The trap should be installed in zones of the plot that are free of crop plants, partially buried, so that its opening is aligned with the surrounding soil surface to facilitate insect access.

The trap Cosmopolites sordidus consists of:

• 2 funnel-shaped cups in yellow and with built-in fittings that allow the trap to close;
• 1 base / tray with a support structure for the attractant package or for the dispenser / diffuser of pheromones.

Dose: 4 to 16 traps w/ attractant or dispenser/ha (depending on the objective, season or attack intensity)

Attention: Frequent monitoring and cleaning of the traps is recommended.
