Rebell^® Blu - Blue Chromotropic Traps for Professional Thrips Monitoring

The Rebell^® Blu system is a reusable, ecological and highly effective solution for the monitoring and control of thrips in protected and outdoor crops. Each package contains 25 blue chromotropic traps (15 x 8 cm), with glue and ready to install.

Target Crops and Species

Indicated for crops such as:

• Alliaceae, asteraceae, cucurbitaceae, fabaceae, solanaceae
• Ornamentals and cut flowers

Effective against:

• Western flower thrips or western flower thrips (Frankliniella occidentalis);
• Tobacco thrips or onion thrips (Thrips tabaci);
• Tomato thrips or cotton thrips (Frankliniella schultzei);
• Green bean thrips (Hydatothrips adolfifriderici);
• Bean flower thrips or African bean thrips (Megalurothrips sjostedti);
• Loquat thrips (Thrips coloratus);
• Plague thrips (Thrips imaginis);
• Raspberry thrips (Thrips major);
• New Zealand flower thrips (Thrips obscuratus);
• Melon thrips (Thrips palmi).

Technical note: Efficacy can be enhanced with the use of a multi-specific semiochemical dispenser (available separately), which stimulates the flight of thrips and increases captures.

Method of Use

• Install on the branches or on supports above the crop;
• Maintain 10 cm distance above the top of the plants;
• Avoid contact with leaves or fruits;
• Recommended density: 1 trap per 50 m² (≈ 200 units per hectare); Never less than 1 per 250 m².

Monitoring and Interpretation

• Carry out weekly counts;
• Replace traps or glue when saturated with insects;
• In low counts, keep traps and add captures cumulatively;
• Assign codes by location and record in a protocol per greenhouse;
• Evaluate the efficacy of control measures (biological and / or others);
• Use graphs for population analysis and decision-making.

Phytosanitary Recommendations

• Use only authorised plant protection products;
• Follow the information contained in the circulars of the Agricultural Warning Station;
• Respect the production method of the holding.

Cleaning and Reuse

• Remove before harvest;
• Clean with a spatula and neutral biosolvent;
• Renew the glue with Tangle-Trap (156 g), commercially available.
