Purple Prismatic Trap - Smart Protection Against Wood-Boring Beetles

The Purple Prismatic Trap was specially developed for the selective monitoring and capture of wood-boring insects, particularly species of the genus Agrilus spp. and other buprestids that affect fruit, forest and ornamental trees. With an optimised design and high efficacy, this solution is ideal for protecting species such as ash, oak, pear, beech and cork oak.

Target Pests

• Agrilus planipennis - Emerald ash borer;
• Agrilus biguttatus - Oak splendour beetle;
• Agrilus sinuatus - Sinuate pear tree borer;
• Agrilus viridis - Beech splendour beetle;
• Coraebus undatus - Cork oak buprestid.

• Material: Purple polypropylene (PP) resistant to adverse weather conditions;

• Coating: High-adhesion exterior glue for effective capture;
• Installation: Includes wires for secure suspension at the monitoring site.

Compatibility with Dispensers

• The trap must be equipped with a pheromone / attractant dispenser for Agrilus spp or Coraebus undatus (purchased separately).

Monitoring Calendar

• Portugal: Adults emerge between March and April, with activity until July/August;
• Recommended installation: Before the start of the flight, in areas with a history of infestation;
• Campaign duration: Keep in the field until regular captures cease.
