Mini Funnel Trap - Compact and Effective Pest Monitoring

The Yellow Mini Funnel Trap combines precision, lightness and versatility in a compact device, ideal for the monitoring of medium to large lepidoptera or other pests. It is intended for the initial detection of the pest's flight or in situations of low population pressure, being recommended for:

• Forests;
• Vegetable crops (outdoors or protected);
• Cereals;
• Ornamentals;
• Pastures.

This reduced version of the yellow funnel-type trap with a transparent cup was especially designed for locations where the use of larger traps is not justified, but where quick visual monitoring is essential.

Installation:

• At the level of the tree canopy or shrubs (forests and ornamentals);
• Slightly above the crop (vegetable crops, cereals and pastures);
• Ideal for areas with low pest intensity.

Characteristics

• Transparent funnel-shaped cup with built-in fittings for attachment to the funnel;
• Opaque yellow funnel with fittings for connection to the cup and the lid;
• Opaque green lid with fitting points for cage and suspension;
• Cage with lid, for insertion of the sex pheromone dispenser or others (purchased separately);
• Suspension cord for practical installation at the monitoring point.

Dose: 2 to 10 traps w/ dispenser/ha (depending on the objective, plot, crop density, season and intensity of the attack).

Attention: Adding 50 to 100 ml of water (2 to 3 cm in height) with a few drops of neutral soap or unused vegetable oil in the bottom of the cup helps to retain the captured insects inside the trap. Frequent monitoring and cleaning of the trap is recommended. The yellow colour can attract beneficial insects, namely bees, which may inadvertently be captured in the trap. A prior assessment of each situation / target pest is recommended, along with the selection of other trap colours whenever possible for the monitoring of the target pest. Alternatively, other options should be considered for the monitoring of the target pest in situations where the use of the yellow colour results in a high capture of beneficial insects in the trap.
