Precision monitoring kit with 60 traps - Mediterranean fruit fly (Attractant)

Kit for precision monitoring of the Mediterranean fruit fly in orchards where high precision is sought in monitoring the population present in the plot. The traps should preferably be installed in the south-facing area of the tree canopy, reinforcing with special attention the lateral zones of the orchard. The kit was developed with the materials needed for use over 3 months.

Each Standard kit with 60 traps - Mediterranean fruit fly (Attractant), contains:

• 60 Tephri-type traps - fly cup [yellow cup (with four lateral holes and another in the inverted inner funnel), four transparent channels for installation in the lateral holes, an internal basket for placing the pheromones, a translucent lid with a snap-fit system and a metal hanger for suspension];
• 60 food attractants in individual sealed packages of 30 g each (Ceratitis capitata - Trimo-lure®).

The kit is marketed assembled in a single package with assembly instructions.

Dose: 5 to 60 traps/ha (depending on the crop, season and attack intensity - consult the components' documentation).

Attention: Gloves must be used to handle the sealed attractant package. The use of a mask is recommended during the process of opening the attractant package. The intense odor emanating from the attractant may cause olfactory discomfort or nausea in more sensitive individuals; as a preventive measure you should keep your face away and protect your eyes with goggles during the opening and handling of the attractant package. Frequent monitoring and cleaning of the trap is recommended. Adding 100 to 200 ml of water with a few drops of neutral soap or unused vegetable oil to the cup helps retain the captured insects inside the trap. Keep the attractants in a cool place (< 25 º C) and protected from direct sun exposure until the installation date. Consult literature on the biology / ecology of the pest for the area, region or country and the recommendations present in the circulars resulting from the activity of the Agricultural Warning Station. Using pest monitoring methodologies in agricultural crops always assumes that they are accompanied by a consistent plan for sampling the damage (harm and losses), to assess the risk regarding the economic level of attack.
