Rhynchophorus ferrugineus

Common name: Red palm weevil or red palm beetle.

Recommended trap: Rhynchophorus ferrugineus (Pitfall type). É it is also possible to use the Cosmopolites sordidus (Pitfall type). Note: The trap is purchased separately.

Omnilure (dispenser with aggregation pheromone attractant) formulated in TNT (non-woven fabric), placed inside a plastic dispenser with an activation hook, containing 650 mg of attractant for monitoring males and females of the red palm weevil in a trap for 8 to 12 weeks. This ​beetle is responsible for the recent decimation of the Canary Island date palms observed in the countries of the Mediterranean basin.

Attention: Gloves must be used to handle the dispenser after opening the sealed package. The dispenser containing the attractant needs to be activated, in order to release the pheromones. To activate the dispenser, the hook must be pulled until you feel a slight click, in order to open the dispenser. After opening, the dispenser must be positioned on the tray located inside the trap.

The product is available in an individual sealed package of 7.4 g (>650 mg of pheromones).
