Supercapsule Kit 2 - Precision Monitoring in Orchards with Mating Disruption

The Supercapsule Kit 2 for the codling moth (Cydia pomonella) was developed with 2 Delta traps for the monitoring, assessment and detection of the presence of the pest in orchards maintained under the mating disruption (MD) methodology, making it possible to track the efficacy of the control strategy and identify possible residual foci of the pest.

This kit contains all the materials necessary for use throughout the entire campaign, allowing two complete replacements of the monitoring elements (pheromone dispenser and sticky base).

• Plots under mating disruption with long-lasting dispensers;
• Monitoring complementary precision for validation of the efficacy of the MD technique.

This kit is an essential tool for technicians and growers who wish to validate the efficacy of mating disruption, adjust interventions and ensure the protection of production based on real field data.

Kit Contents (2 traps)

• 2 delta-type traps with a resistant structure and easy assembly;
• 6 sticky bases ready to install, for visual monitoring of the captures;
• 6 sex pheromone dispensers (12 mg each) specific to the codling moth.

Durability of the dispensers:
Each dispenser has an average duration of 10 to 12 weeks, allowing total coverage of up to 36 weeks per trap.

Dose: 1 to 5 traps w/ dispenser/ha (depending on the objective, plot, crop density, season and attack intensity).

The kit is sold gathered in a single pack with assembly instructions.

Attention: Gloves must be used to handle the pheromone dispenser after opening the sealed pack. The sticky base must be replaced whenever a new pheromone dispenser is installed. Frequent monitoring and cleaning of the traps is recommended. Keep the pheromone dispensers cold (refrigerator or freezer) until the installation date.
