FytoSave^® - Plant immunity activated with natural precision

FytoSave^® is an innovative elicitor of plant defences, developed on the basis of a patented complex of natural oligosaccharides called COS-OGA. This complex combines:

• COS (chito-oligosaccharides): derived from chitin, extracted from crustaceans.
• OGA (oligogalacturonides): obtained from the pectin present in plants.

Its action is preventive and not directly fungicidal, activating the intrinsic defence mechanisms of plants to combat fungal diseases such as downy mildew and powdery mildew, without leaving residues or exerting selective pressure on the pathogens.

How does FytoSave^® work?

When recognised by the receptors of the plant's cell membrane, COS-OGA triggers a cascade of biochemical reactions that simulate an infection, leading to the activation of systemic acquired resistance (SAR):

• Strengthening of the cell wall: Activation of genes that promote the deposition of callose, lignin and suberin, hindering the penetration of the fungus;
• Production of phytoalexins: Low-molecular-weight antimicrobial compounds with antifungal action;
• Synthesis of defence proteins: Such as chitinases and glucanases, which degrade components of the cell wall of invading fungi;
• Modulation of gene expression: Activation of metabolic pathways such as the phenylpropanoid pathway, associated with the plant immune response.

Agronomic and environmental advantages

• Zero residues: No maximum residue limits (MRL), ideal for food crops and export;
• No risk of resistance: Does not act directly on the fungus, avoiding the selection of resistant strains;
• Stable to UV light and rain: Maintains efficacy even under adverse environmental conditions;
• Compatible with Organic Agriculture: Authorised in Integrated Protection and Organic Agriculture programmes;
• Liquid formulation: Easy to apply and integrate into existing treatment schemes.
