Madex^® Top - Advanced biological protection against the codling moth

Highly effective bioinsecticide, developed on the basis of the granulosis virus of Cydia pomonella (CpGV - isolate V15), intended for the control of the codling moth (Cydia pomonella) in orchards of apple trees, pear trees and walnut trees.

• Specific and innovative mode of action - The product acts by ingestion: the caterpillars ingest viral particles when they begin to penetrate the skin of the fruit. The virus replicates inside the larva, causing its death by infection. This selective action ensures high efficacy without affecting non-target organisms;
• Flexibility in dose and persistence of efficacy - Although the standard approved dose is 100 mL/ha, studies show that minimal doses, such as 10 mL/ha, also cause significant mortality of the pest, especially in long-term strategies. This characteristic allows for more sustainable and economical management of the crop;
• High resistance to wash-off by rain -  the product has excellent resistance to precipitation after drying, and can be applied up to 10 times per campaign, with intervals adjusted to sunlight conditions;
• Compatible with biodiversity and Organic Agriculture - Free of residues (no MRL), with no re-entry or pre-harvest interval, and approved for Organic Agriculture. It can be integrated into integrated pest management programmes, together with traditional or biological products or mating disruption techniques;
• Storage and application - It must be stored in a refrigerator (<5 °C) or freezer, and applied with conventional spraying equipment, preferably before egg hatching, to maximise ingestion by the larvae.
