Pine T Pro Ball®

Pine T Pro Ball^® is an innovative and long-lasting sex pheromone for the control of the damage of the caterpillar of the pine processionary moth (Thaumetopoea pityocampa) by mating disruption.

The product is distributed directly and uniformly inside the canopy of the trees, causing the disorientation of the males, which are unable to locate the females, given the saturation of the air with the pheromone. This causes the disruption of mating in the adults and consequently the decrease in egg-laying, in the number of caterpillars and of their future nests. 

The caterpillars of the pest feed on the needles and cause severe defoliation, which leads to the progressive weakening of the trees. The hairs of the caterpillars are also a danger to human and animal health, as they cause strong skin rashes, sore skin, and irritations of the eyes and throat. 

The product is safer than spraying, easier to apply and harmless to the environment, contributing to the preservation of your pine trees and at the same time safeguarding human and animal health from the serious injuries caused by the caterpillars.

The balls containing the pheromone must be projected uniformly inside the canopy of the tree using a paintball launcher (standard calibre 0.68) (Attention: respect the safety standards of the launcher during its handling and consult the instructions for the correct application of the product).

Dose: from 5 to 30 balls / tree (variable depending on the size, stand form and infestation level of the trees)

The product is available in a pack of 100 balls.
